In sintesi:

  • Christian Werner: Werner takes us on a journey through time to the former seat of government, Bonn. A series capturing the flavour of the sixties and seventies
  • Nanna Heitmann: Sparse steppes, enchanted forests and special people: the photographer catches magical moments along the banks of the Yinesei
  • Ana María Arévalo: The young Venezuelan photographer captures strong images of daily life in detention centres, where access is normally denied
  • David Nissen: Using desaturated colours, the French photographer captures store fronts and motels in the USA, looking like film sets but devoid of any people
  • Andy Summers: The former guitarist of The Police has been a dedicated photographer for forty years. Now a new book with his images has been published
  • LEICA Q2: The exterior appears almost unchanged – inside, however, the new Q2 is fitted with a brand new sensor offering a significantly higher resolution and greater range of digital focal lengths
  • SL SUMMICRON 35: Leica continue to expand their range of Summicron-SL lenses, gradually moving into the wide-angle realm. Matt Stuart tested the SL’s latest fixed focal length out in the field
  • M10-P “ASC 100”: The Leica M10-P “ASC 100 Edition” is due to be released in autumn 2019, marking the 100th anniversary of the American Society of Cinematographers
  • LIGHTBOX: LFI. GALLERY - Over 25 000 photographers present more than half a million images at the LFI Gallery. In this issue: a colourful mixture of structures, lines, and cityscapes

In this issue, we introduce the new photo book by Andy Summers, former guitarist for The Police and passionate Leica photographer. The French photographer, David Nissen, adds more colour to the mix, documenting store fronts and motels in the USA, which, being devoid of any people, makes them look rather like film sets. You'll also find a powerful reportage by Ana María Arévalo, capturing everyday life in Venezuelan detentions centres, and have the chance to accompany Nanna Heitmann on her mystical journey along the Yenisei River in Siberia. In addition, you can also join Christian Werner, this time on an ironic-nostalgic journey through time to the former seat of the German government in Bonn. In the magazine’s technical segment, you can read reports on the Leica Q2, the new Apo-Summicron-SL 35mm lens, and the new special edition of the Leica M: the M10-P "ASC 100". We hope you enjoy this new issue of LFI!
